Overview

Tilt & turn windows combine two opening styles in a single sash. Turn the handle one way and the window tilts inward from the top for secure, controlled ventilation; turn it the other way and the whole sash swings inward on a side hinge, opening fully like a door.

The full inward swing makes cleaning the outside of the glass straightforward from inside the room, and can also serve as an emergency escape route in upstairs rooms. The tilt position, meanwhile, lets you ventilate a room securely without opening it wide.

Popular in contemporary homes, tilt & turn windows pair naturally with double glazing for strong insulation, noise reduction, and year-round comfort.
